How to provide a function to recaptcha plugin instead of 2captcha?

The Recaptcha plugin docs state that another provider can be easily used, I just need to pass a function instead of 2captcha credentials. Is there any documentation on that somewhere, or maybe an example? The reason I am asking is because 2captcha is taking up to 60 seconds for me.

Some other providers are much faster.
