There are certain situations reported where the firmware update just doesn't give the user any options. If there is a problem downloading the image or connecting to the internet, we should let the user know.

I've requested an application log for this encounter.

I am able to reproduce this consistently. There are no options appearing for me in the automatic firmware update on linux:
