Plans for a release including PR #4528?

I’m building a crate on top of changes introduced in PR #4528, which has already been merged but isn’t part of a published release yet.

Since crates.io doesn’t allow depending on a Git revision, I can’t publish my crate unless those changes are released (otherwise I’d need to temporarily publish a fork).

Are there any plans for an upcoming release that would include this PR?

Hmmm, that might be difficult because we're setting up for a 1.0 release in the near future, which might take a while to prepare.

What do you think about backporting only the fix and releasing a 0.21.1? Do you depend on new functionality?

I only depend on that single commit. I tried cherry-picking it onto 0.21 and it works for my use case, but it introduces a few warnings.
A 0.21.1 with just the backported fix would work perfectly for me. If that turns out to be too much hassle, I can temporarily publish a small fork to crates.io on my side.
