Currently the sample scripts have a hardcoded QType, Go is ADDR and Perl is A.

Perhaps it is worth adding an optional CLI argument to specify a QType and fallback to an ADDR query?

...and I'm happy to add this and send pull requests, just wanted to sound out others on whether it is worth doing.

The first version of the perl script received a second argument with the type of the request. But it begins to grow a lot to handle every case. I think that get-ip is just a proof-of-concept script, just to test the infrastructure.
I'm using a simplified version of this, but it outputs the entire json. I prefer to have all the information, for diagnosis. Anyway, I think it'll be needs for a "get-rr.*", as you mention.
