Bref’s PHP runtime includes iconv, but Central European encodings are unavailable.
Environment:
al2023
arn:aws:lambda:eu-central-1:873528684822:layer:php-83:19
Minimal reproduction:
<?php
$source = hex2bin('f5fbc1c9'); // őűÁÉ in Windows-1250
var_dump(iconv(
'WINDOWS-1250',
'UTF-8',
$source
));
Expected:
őűÁÉ
Actual:
iconv(): Wrong encoding, conversion from
"WINDOWS-1250" to "UTF-8" is not allowed
ISO-8859-2, CP1250, and MS-EE fail as well, while ISO-8859-1 and CP1252 work.
It looks like the runtime ships only a minimal subset of glibc gconv modules. Could the missing Central European conversion modules be included?
