compose autoconf confusion

so after looking hard for a compose file to get this up running with autoconf and webui on 1.6 stable, creating syslog.conf manually, applying the syslog cap_add patch for arm builds i am still not able to do anything with it, it's my first time setting up a reverse proxy so it's probably a trivial mistake i'm making but i'd be glad if somebody can chime in

it seems the bunkerweb-ui service is looking at the wrong place for the database file??

I just tried to reproduce your issue but looks like I can't.

Here is what I did :

1. Copy paste syslog-ng.conf from here : https://docs.bunkerweb.io/latest/web-ui/#syslog-ng-configuration
2. Copy paste your docker-compose.yml file
3. Edit the %changeme password (with a one respecting the constraints) and changeme username in the env vars of web UI
4. Run the compose file
5. Wait until the stack is up
6. Navigate to https://bw-ui.example.com:3443/path => we have access to web UI

My hypothesis is as follows: you previously launched a bw-ui instance (and possibly other containers as well, but I can't know for sure) without the correct environment variables. However, after modifying the environment variables, you need to delete the containers and then recreate them for the new variables to be applied.

Can you please try to do a docker compose down -v (full command include the important -v argument) and then start the container again ?

i always do a pull after any changes so the containers get recreated
by correct environment variables you mean the ui admin password? i set it Admin123* to check if there was a "constraints" problem but nothing changed

though i did a workaround by cp'ing the bunkerweb.yml into docker-compose.yml the compose up though cli and it ran fine with no errors

i didn't think that was a problem because the machine i tried it on usually resolves hostnames fine, but will check again

just to avoid confusion are you referring to the hosts file on the host, the container or the machine trying to access it?

i did search there but did't find anything that helped

later yesterday i tried installing bunkerweb on the host which completely broke OMV webgui/nginx conf, even after purging bunkerweb the scheduler python script was still running consuming 110% cpu, had to DD restore the machine
