We received the report that use "master repository" is confusing when we had "master branch". Was suggested to use "official repository" or "upstream repository" instead of "master repository".

+1 to dropping “master branch”. I'd rather pick something that needs
as little interpretation as possible, like
“swcarpentry/lesson-example” or “the swcarpentry/lesson-example
repository” or “swcarpentry/lesson-example's gh-pages branch”.
