Hi @andrejs-is-on-the-computer, Thanks a lot for sharing your perspective. We used to have the popup on mobile as well, but it introduced a whole lot of other unpleasant user experience issues. So we decided to stick to the common practice of having a dedicated page. As for the feedback about the different bars, it's very opinionated. Some users like it and others don't. We may try different designs, but we have no plans to remove them for now. |

On the desktop view, clicking on a post opens up a modal. On mobile, clicking on a post loads a new page.
The "non-committal" UX is really great in the desktop view, and I think it would be nice to have that in the mobile view as well.
The mobile modal pop-up could still look the same as how posts are presented in the mobile view currently - which takes up the whole screen (minus the navbar) - but being able to open and dismiss the posts without reloading the main page is great.
One potential issue doing it like this, it removes an option to go back to the main page (via the "back" button). To keep that functionality, the back button could simply dismiss the modal, same as if a user clicks outside the modal on desktop view.
2nd point, just thinking aloud, on the mobile view there is too much crap taking up space that does nothing most of the time. Specifically, when looking at a post.
The "Share your thoughts" and bottom navbar takes up 150-ish pixels of the screen's vertical space. The top navbar takes up about 1/3 of that, and except for the back button and options menu button, it's pretty much empty.
Most users are probably only using this site to read stuff, not participate in the discussion. When they're reading a post, they don't need to "explore" or see their "notifications" or check out their "squads", or even create a new post; they're reading a post.
Also the "Share your thoughts" full-screen-width button/text-area is redundant, since the comment button already exists at the bottom of the OP.
It would be better for all of this stuff to be somewhere out of the way, that frees up space to allow the user to see more of the post.
