Hi, it's me again from issue #2931. :)
I noticed that trying to run my text editor in a terminal emulator other than Kitty only lets me use some keys on my keyboard. My guess for this is something to do with the Kitty keyboard protocol (hence the question mark in the issue title).

I tested my text editor in Alacritty, the arrow keys didn't work. I then tried it in XFCE4 Terminal and NONE of the keys worked! Same result in UXTerm (Unicode XTerm) as in XFCE4 Terminal.

The only terminal emulators that worked properly were Kitty and Foot.
