LIST ON should not be listed

I am using LIST OFF/ON to eliminate clutter from the listing file. While LIST OFF is not listed, LIST ON is. Which prevents eliminating clutter completely. Therefore LIST ON should not be listed too.

On the other hand, if there is no indication at all that the listing was turned off (and back on) deliberately, at some point somebody is going to wonder why there are lines missing from the listing.

You mean the same person who disabled the listing? IMO quite unlikely. And the source code tells the truth anyway.
