Description of the protocol change
The [Adaptive Metadata Tree (AMT) RFC] spells out a new content data storage mechanism that aligns with iceberg metadata. We want to add a new writer feature that signals writers they MUST write a delta table that is compatible with Iceberg for reading.
Since the AMT RFC shares the same structure as iceberg the writer compatibility will go further then the existing icebergCompat options and guarantee that content metadata will have zero cost translation between the two formats.

The Delta Lake Community encourages protocol innovations. Would you or another member of your organization be willing to contribute this feature to the Delta Lake code base?
