=======================
0. Table of Contents
-----------------------
1. Prerequisites
2. Configuration
3. Building
4. Installing
5. Running
=======================
1. Prerequisites
-----------------------
Mandatory:
CMake >= 2.8.4 - Build system. http://cmake.org
Qt 5.x - Crossplatform C++ library. http://qt.io
Ogg/Vorbis - Bitstream and audio codec from Xiph.org. http://xiph.org
Optional:
FLAC - Free Loseless Audio Codec. Enables convertion from FLAC audio files.
mpg123 - Free MP3 codec library. Enabled conversion from Mp3 audio files.
=======================
2. Configuration
-----------------------
a) Unpack/clone Fogg sources:
$ tar -zxf fogg-<version>.tar.gz
or
$ clone git://gitorious.org/fogg/fogg.git
b) Create build directory:
$ mkdir /path/to/fogg/build/dir && cd /path/to/fogg/build/dir
c) Configure Fogg:
$ cmake /path/to/fogg/cmake
Fogg accepts next configuration options.
Use either ccmake or cmake-gui commands instead of cmake to specify them interactively.
Or path them sequentially from command line in format: "cmake -D <option>=<value> ..."
CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE - Standard CMake variable to define build type. Possible values are:
Release (default)
Debug
Fogg_BUILD_FLAC_PLUGIN - Whether to build partucular plugin that enables conversion from appropriate format.
Fogg_BUILD_VORBIS_PLUGIN Possible values are:
Fogg_BUILD_WAVE_PLUGIN Optional (default) - if all prerequisites are satisfied than plugin will be built,
otherwise it will be skipped with information message
Fogg_BUILD_MP3_PLUGIN Yes - force to build plugin, throw error if prerequisites are not satisfied
No - force to not build plugin
Fogg_DEBUG - Print Fogg specific debug messages. Possible values are:
YES
NO (default)
Fogg_USE_PRECOMPILED_HEADERS - Enable precompiled headers. Possible values are:
YES (default)
NO
Fogg_TRANSLATION_LOCALES - Space separated list of locales to build translation for. Each translation is represented by
directory under the "translations" folder. Possible values are:
ALL (default) - build all translations found
<translation names> - list of translations to build, for example: "en ru de"; this version is
useful for localizators to generate new, not exist yet translation.
=======================
3. Building
-----------------------
While inside build directory, run:
$ make
Use -j argument to speedup building in several threads:
$ make -j <thread count>
=======================
4. Installing
-----------------------
To be done.
=======================
5. Running
-----------------------
By default Fogg executable is placed into build directory. After successful build run:
$ ./Fogg
To let Fogg find built translation by running it from build directory - specify FOGG_TRANSLATIONS_DIR env variable:
$ FOGG_TRANSLATIONS_DIR=$PWD/translations ./Fogg
