Global DT - retrieve data for a subset of the globe

Hi,
In the context of DE On-Demand for Extremes (DEODE), we need to download Global DT data for comparison with the DEODE runs (both through visualization apps and for verification). We only need data over Europe so , my question is: is there the possibility to download only a subset of the global domain with polytope? I couldn't find any example.

Also I would like to understand better about the delay in data availability for GlobalDT data and how this is expected to change in the future. I read somewhere that it was 15d, but last week I was able to download data only a couple of days old, although yesterday I had to go back up to 96h for being able to download data.
