ordering of articles is overridden by section order

The ordering of the articles is adjusted in the BACK CONTENT > Issues page, where individual articles can be moved up and down the TOC. See example at https://journalpub.escholarship.org/demo/manage/issues/1668/

However, under STAFF > Manager > Sections, the ordering of the sections supersedes any editing of the article order. See example at https://journalpub.escholarship.org/demo/manager/sections/ where you can see the articles sit above the front matter. Consequently, in all the following publications, the front matter would not come first even if so ordered in the Issues page.

Neither of these views is in the back content plugin (they may be linked from back content but this is core janeway). Can you reproduce the problem you're having on dev? It's on a new janeway version so possible it has been fixed. I'm also not sure I fully understand what you expect to happen. I think, yes, the section ordering will override the article ordering because of how layouts are produced but maybe it's letting you do something that is misleading.

Ah, it did work in dev, I re-ordered the sections in the Issue view so it didn’t match the Section selection and it published as expected in the Issue view
