A lot of the layers have ended up styled using a sequential reds color scheme, either because they were symbolized that way locally or through a renderer. In some cases, reds might make sense (wildfire risk?), in others, it's stigmatizing. Find a different scheme. Note: the EJScreen indicator/index layers have color bins/schemes built in (I think). But maybe they can be updated.
Additionally, the layers have various transparency levels. In some cases the transparency is set for a good reason (overlay) but in others it may be random. Set a consistent transparency.
