No automatic updates: Aborted due to failure (code 256); possibly org.freedesktop related?

What Happened?

The auto update is set but I've restarted twice now and the updates shown in the AppCenter are not applied

Steps to Reproduce

Select auto update

Expected Behavior

All updates should be applied upon restart

OS Version

8.x (Circe)

Session Type

Classic Session (X11, This is the default)

Software Version

Latest release (I have run all updates)

The auto update settings in System Settings are only applied for system updates, which can be installed in the same screen. The auto update settings for AppCenter should be in the gear on the right side of the titlebar of AppCenter.

Trying to update by manually clicking on the "update all" button results in:

Aborted due to failure (Al intentar aplicar datos adicionales: Ha fallado el script apply_extra, código de error 256)

Selected "Repair", did nothing. Upgraded Obsidian manually with no issues, went to terminal and tried:

$ sudo flatpak update
Buscando actualizaciones…
Nada que hacer.

$ sudo flatpak upgrade
Buscando actualizaciones…
Nada que hacer.

i.e., flatpak says that there are no updates to apply but AppCenter still shows:

and clicking on the update button shows the same error as above.

Tried the solution posted here flatpak/flatpak#4107 (comment), did not work.

Don't know what else I should try.

AppCenter nos shows these required updates:

but still the same error. These updates are most likely related to me installing Kolourpaint btw. I've removed this app now but the issue remains.
