[Bug Report] Issue with ESP-IDF Installation (EIM-965)

• OS info: OS: linux-linuxmint 22.2 | Architecture: x86_64 | Kernel: 6.14.0-37-generic
• App Version: 0.17.4

Description

Please describe the issue you encountered:

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open the installation manager from the VScode extension
2. Run custom install select any version (I used v5.5.5 and v5.3.5)
3. Continue to step 9 as usual, selecting the default install directory. (tried both with and without the cmake tool)

Expected Behavior

Downloads, automatically configures and can immediately be used

Actual Behavior

After downloading and installing tools, opens a second instance of the installer. Stalls the custom installer at 95% indefinitely.
(manually running "./install.sh" and ". .export.sh" in the terminal at the install location causes the custom installer to resume and complete the [installation)]

by manually running "./install.sh" and ". .export.sh" you sucesfully broke your environment. Only way to fix it is complete removal of IDF.

Interesting, as that's the only way, after completely removing and failing to re-install several times, that I could get the installer to reach a completed status.

Furthermore, after doing so, it finally works as intended with both the extension and the hardware for the purposes of building and flashing.

I posted a bug report so that either someone can fix the part of the custom install process that is broken, or so others who have the same problem can get their software installed.
