The bug

On my bangle, I use step tracking as a way to know how much physical activity I’ve been doing. However, whenever the bangle reboots, the steps accumulated for the day resets down to zero. This is inconvenient because, especially for me, I am an avid developer, and often reboot the device multiple times per day. I wonder, why are steps cleared every reboot, and if so, could we stop that, or make it a setting?

I suppose it could be implemented as a bootloader app?

Record steps to storage before reboot and then restore that number when starting up again.

Not sure if we have an event for hard reboots so look in the reference 🤔🙂

This has been brought up before so it should be possible to find those old discussions either here among the issues or on the forum.

I don't remember the reasoning behind it now.
