Keba P40 (Pro)

ich liebäugele damit, mir die demnächst erscheinende P40 Pro von Keba anzuschaffen. Evcc unterstützt bereits die P30.
Wie sind die Erfahrungen bzgl evcc vs Keba? Wird die Unterstützung der neuen P40 schnell und zügig implementiert werden können?

...sie sagt: Wenn die Schnittstellen zu den sonstigen Boxen identisch sind oder Standard-Schnittstellen wie z.B. OCPP implementiert sind dann sollte die Box auch kommunizieren können.

Zu allen anderen möglichen Variationen würde ich eher das nächstbeste Orakel oder einfach den Hersteller befragen.

In kurzen Worten. Sehr gut. Ich betreibe eine Keba P30 X und eine Keba P30 C, wobei die P30 X als Master und die P30 C als Slave funktionieren. Beide lassen sich komfortabel in EVCC einbinden. Das funktioniert sowohl via UDP als auch via Modbus TCP-IP.

Ein weiterer Vorteil ist die Einbindung in Keba Mobility Portal. Damit hast du sowohl eine Konfigurationsmöglichkeit der Wallbox vom Firmware-Update bis zu den einzelnen Einstellungen, ebenso erhältst du eine übersichtliche Statistik, die du dir in selbst definierten Intervallen auch als Email (PDF) zusenden lassen kannst.

Über die Möglichkeiten der P40 schweigt sich meine ansonsten bestens informierte Glaskugel natürlich aus, ich gehe aber davon aus, dass sie ebenfalls wie vorgesehen funktionieren wird (nennt sich Prinzip Hoffnung)

Auf der Homepage von Keba steht bei der P40, dass Modbus-TCP in einem späteren Software Update zur Verfügung gestellt werden wird. Daraus würde ich schließen, dass die Einbindung zunächst mal nicht so einfach werden wird, bis dieses Update für die Wallbox dann zur Verfügung steht.

Ich hab' eine P40 daheim und die Box ist aktuell "dumm" - man kann damit original genau nur Laden. Selbst die Keba App und das Keba Portal können mit der Box noch nichts anfangen. Sämtliche lokalen Features, wie z.B. RFID funktionieren ebenfalls (noch?) nicht.

Etwas Geduld noch, im Herbst sollen einige Features u.a. Modbus per Update kommen.

Werde heute versuchen, einen Ladevorgang via evcc zu starten.

Was mir noch aufgefallen ist, die Walllbox ändert beim Neustarten das OCPP Protokoll von ws auf wss. Das muss dann wohl jedesmal angepasst werden, bis der Bug behoben wurde.

die Fehlermeldungen verschwanden nachdem der erste Ladevorgang gestartet war.
Evtl. mussten hier nur Register im Speicher n der Wallbox erstmalig befüllt werden.

Was mir beim ersten Laden auffiel:

• ich habe viele Current Mismatch Fehler erhalten,
• das ganze System (Einspeisung + Hausbatterie + Wallbox in Kombination mit div. Refresh-Raten der Leistungszähler) hat recht heftig angefangen zu schwingen bzw. auf und ab zu regeln (11kw, 4kw, 6kw, 11kw, ...), ohne einigermaßen stabil auf Null auszuregeln (evcc -Rate = 30 Sek, hat bei meiner bisherigen WB gut funktioniert).
• die Regelung durch evcc erfolgt bei der WB in 0,1 A Schritten. Ist es möglich, das im generischen ocpp-template auf ganze Ampere-Schritte umzustelllen? M.E. würde das etwas Ruhe in die Regelung bringen

Werde morgen nochmal versuchen und hier ein Log-File posten.

Hallo, konnte die P40 nun soweit erfolgreich in Betrieb nehmen.

Zu den weiter oben anfangs erwähnten Fehlermeldungen, dass Energie und Stromzähler not available sind, das liegt möglicherweise an diesem Setting, beim Start der Wallbox werden die Werte initial erst nach gewisser Zeit zum ersten Mal ans Backend übertragen

Zu den laufenden Current Mismatches und dem Schwingverhalten, könnte an diesem Setting liegen, default Wert ist 10 Sekunden,

Nachdem ich den Wert auf 2 Sekunden gestellt hatte (gelbe Markierung), hat das Schwingverhalten aufgehört und die Current Mismatches in evcc verschwanden auch.

Was noch übrig bleibt, ist der regelmäßige Fehler

Warum soll es überhaupt eine Keba P40 sein? Ich sehe keinen Vorteil diese oder irgendeine andere Box von Keba zu verwenden.

Kann ich gerne so sehen, allerdings stand in der Eingangsfrage, dass er mit der Keba "liebäugelt". Das klingt für mich als wäre er noch auf der "Suche".

Hinsichtlich dieser Frage des OP sind Informationen wie, Modbus TCP ist in der aktuellen Software-Release 1.1.0 (wohl) nicht möglich und eine Information, ob es in 1.2.0 ist, nicht verfügbar doch relevant. Einziges Feature, welches bisher für 1.2.0 angekündigt wurde, ist Phase-Switching.
Es gibt Infos, leider ohne öffentlich zugängliche Belege, das Keba plant, die Modbus für das gegenständliche Modell irgendwann zu liefern. Außerdem soll die Registerbelegung gleich / sehr ähnlich zu bisherigen Modellen sein.
Es liegt somit weniger am Projekt, sondern am Wallbox Hersteller wie's mit einer Integration aussieht, sehe ich zumindest so.

Initiale Gründe für mein Interesse waren

• MID-zertifizierter Zähler (für die THG-Quote, auch wenn die THG-Preise hier seit diesem Jahr deutlich niedriger sind, würd ich gern auf kwh-Basis verrechnen können und nicht nur die Pauschale bekommen)
• 1P3P integriert (die P30 konnte das nur mit einer zusätzlichen Box)
• 32 Ampere laden (kann zwar mein aktuelles Auto noch nicht, das nächste vielleicht schon)
• Möglichkeit zum Bidirektionalen Laden (aktuell zwar auch noch nicht relevant, aber das wird auch kommen)
• Kabelabgang unten raus, bei meinem aktuellen Wattpiloten steht das Kabel inkl. Stecker fast waagrecht in die Garage rein => etwas eng)

OpenWB hatte ich mir mal angesehen, aber die sind wesentlich teurer und brauchen eine zusätzliche Steuereinheit wenn ich mich recht erinnere.
Gern lass ich mir andere Wallboxen empfehlen :-)

Ob jemals Bidirektionales AC Laden umgesetzt wird, steht in den Sternen. Aktuell sieht es bei allen existierenden Implementierungen eher nach DC aus. Natürlich kann ich aber den Wunsch verstehen dafür "gerüstet" sein zu wollen... Ob das jetzt schon Sinn macht, ist allerdings nochmal eine andere Frage.
Wie auch immer. Ja, die OpenWB Pro ist unverschämt und indiskutabel teuer. Ich hab sie trotzdem, weil ich "dumme" Wallboxen tatsächlich am besten finde. Ich brauche keine möchtegern Wallbox Firmware mit zahlreichen Bugs und Versprechungen deren Implementierung trotzdem schlechter ist als evcc. Die Kombination OpenWB Pro + evcc ist für mich die aktuell beste am Markt, aber eben auch die wahrscheinlich teuerste. Mit der P40 Pro bist Du vom Preis allerdings auch nicht weit weg... Die "nicht-Pro" erfüllt Deine Wünsche nicht vollständig.

Nochmaliger Bericht zur Verwendung der P40.
Aktuelle FW immer noch 1.1.4; 1.2 war für Ende Q1 angekündigt, soweit ich sehe kam die aber nicht. Jetzt wird 1.2.1 mit Mai angekündigt.

Diverse Probleme mit evcc treten noch auf - Ursache (evcc oder schlechte OCPP Implementierung der WB) nicht 100% klar.

• Beim Start von evcc erhält man Fehlermeldungen, weil die Box anscheinend nicht Statusanfragen reagiert, Abhilfe aktuell => sobald evcc im Log angibt "Listening on 7070" in der Keba App unter OCPP-Einstellungen 1x auf Speichern, dann fängt das Ding an zu leben und evcc lässt sich hochfahren.

• Man steckt das Fahrzeug an, weil die Sonne scheint, nichts passiert. evcc bringt erneut Fehlermeldungen dass bestimmte Daten (Voltage etc.) nicht wie erwartet kommen (TimeOut); Ladevorgang startet dann nicht. Man muss erneut in die App, 1x kurz in den OCPP Einstellungen was rumklicken und Speichern, dann fängt die Box an zu laden.

• Fahrzeug ist angesteckt und Strom zur Wallbox fällt aus. Wenn evcc aktuell grad läuft (bei mir via USV deshalb kein Neustart), erkennt es irgendwann die Wallbox. Aber es lässt sich kein Ladevorgang starten. Man muss zum Auto, das Auto abstecken und wieder anstecken. Dann gehts.

Hoffe dass die nächste FW Version bald kommt und einige der Bugs behebt. Mit der aktuellen Version via evcc/OCPP leider nicht recht brauchbar.

Stand heute ist es nicht möglich die P40 in unser WLAN Netzwerk einzubinden.
Stand heute kann die App nicht mit dem Portal verbunden werden.

Haben andere Käufer der P40 eine Einbindung in ein WLAN Netzwerk geschafft?

@ensger Weil LAN gar nicht geht. Die Fritzbox sagt verbunden, aber Ping und App gehen nicht. Per WLAN wird in der App aber eine IP Adresse angezeigt. Die Wallbox habe ich im Verbindungsprozess mehrfach zurückgesetzt, aber über die App. Ich weiß nicht ob das die wirklichen Werkeinstellungen sind. Dabei wurde erstmal sogar nur eine IPv6 Adresse und keine v4 vergeben, aber das auch bei anderen Geräten im Netzwerk. Das war aber glaube ich auch ohne Update und ich hatte auch nochmal vor das ohne LAN Verbindung neu zu starten und zu testen. Einen 2. DHCP Server habe ich per Wireshark im Netzwerk nicht gesehen, aber da ich da kein Profi bin, kann ich auch was übersehen haben. Der DHCP Server der Keba ist zumindest in der App deaktiviert und per REST API auch als Aus angezeigt (das ist aber die gleiche Datenquelle die die App benuutzt). Das LAN Kabel ist jetzt raus und ich melde mich falls es das gefixt hat. Gibt es noch eine andere Reset Möglichkeit?

@JohnFLoki : wenn du dich mit der app im netzwerk (also der RESTAPI) verbindest und dann "info über die Wallbox/mehr anzeigen" auswählst-welche IP adresse wird dir bei LAN angezeigt?
Wenn hier 192.168.42.1 steht dann ist DHCP aktiv da müsstest du über den Slider im Netzwerkmenue der App DHCP einmal bewusst aktivieren (inkl speichern) und dann deaktivieren (inkl. speichern) . Der Slider war bei mir damals auch auf "aus" der DHCP-Server aber trotzdem "on"

Ne hier sind die Ip Adressen drinnen die in der Fritzbox eingestellt sind. Als Lan noch drinnen war war da 172...40. Aber ein ping oder die App ging bei Lan nie und bei Wlan immer wieder mal auch nicht. Jetzt wo Lan draußen ist gab es noch keinen Aussetzer. Irgendwann probiere ich dann auch nochmal ohne W und mit Lan aus, wenn ich mir sicher bin, dass Wlan geht. Aber komisch ist eben, dass trotz angezeigter Lan Ip kein Ping durch kam.

ja das ist wirklich eigenartig..habe mein netzwerk über den lananschluss des tp-link repeater tl-wa 850 an der box und das läuft seit 3 Monaten ohne jegliche Probleme.

Es ist generell etwas unklar, in der timeline wird die Phasenumschaltung mit v1.3.0 angekündigt. In der App steht ab 1.2.0 :-(
1.2.0 sollte Ende Q1 kommen, das wäre dann die nächsten 2 Wochen, mal abwarten..

I don't yet have my electric car, so will test in upcoming days with an actual charge of neighbor's car - but EVCC took no issue with the standard keba-modbus template as in the evcc docs, so i assume it's likely working as expected in other regards as well.

Note: apparently automatic phase switching is INDEED not yet possible with 1.1.4 (although there are endpoints for it already ... but not sure what they do. not tested)

@pacmansh I talked about this a long time ago with keba and was told that Modbus TCP requires an Ethernet cable connection anyway. So I'm surprised that Modbus works over Wi-Fi. Maybe Keba enabled Modbus TCP over Wi-Fi for 15 hours for debugging purposes. But I'm not really sure.

@pacmansh I talked about this a long time ago with keba and was told that Modbus TCP requires an Ethernet cable connection anyway. So I'm surprised that Modbus works over Wi-Fi. Maybe Keba enabled Modbus TCP over Wi-Fi for 15 hours for debugging purposes. But I'm not really sure.

I would not necessarily agree. I experience a very weak behaviour on responses to pings to the wallbox (see below).
The pings on the screenshot were done within a couple of minutes, there are answers between 15ms to 3000ms.
When you launch the Keba app at the same time and try to connect, it fails ("Etwas ist schiefgelaufen") and the network connection seems to crash (Request timed out) and then after some seconds it comes back.
Access point (Unifi AP) is installed in less than 2 meters distance, a Shelly device is installed directly next to the WB (even in the wall) and working fine with the same AP.
Looks to me like a very poor WiFi implementation in the P40, hopefully only on software side..

I had this wifi issue only once. After restarting the box it runs now for several days without the issue (using modbus over wifi). Therefore, I would also not say that it will be disabled programmatically.

For me just setting it up several times worked eventually. Another problem was that LAN is not working, so I had both on to see if an update would fix it, and as I unplugged LAN, Wifi was working. Also modbus over Wifi is working correctly.

I realized that register 5014 works to turn off the loading. Nothing happens when I turn it on, my VW ID3 stays in the modus „Not loading“. I have to change the ID3 Parameter to „loading“, which starts the loading, despite anything I did with 5014 before. Maybe the ID3 causes the problem…

I have been running a Keba P40 for a few days now, which I have integrated into evcc. With the configuration

There is update version of Keba's Modbus TCP Programmers Guide since today.

It states that Register 5004 (set charging current) should be used instead of Register 5014 to suspend/resume a Charging Session. This register now supports 0A on the P40 unlike on the P30. Which makes more sense than disabling/setting the whole charging station unavailable just to stop the charging session.

It also states that Register 1502 and 1036 falsely report the value in Wh instead of 0.1 Wh in firmware versions below 1.2.2.

I've seen some other charge mgmt solutions which start a short low-power charging session when a car is connected to the wallbox to ensure, the cars setting itself properly into charging mode. Some car's have problems, when the wallbox is connected but there's no charging session started within a short period of time.

Could be that this is simply a compatibility behavior to avoid problems with the connected car.

When I explicitely stop the charging process in evcc then disconnect, then set to PV Mode again, then reconnect, the issue does not seem to show up.

Hallo, ich nutze die p40 anbindung in der version v0.203.5. Das funktioniert auf dem ersten Blick korrekt. Im log tauchen jedoch regelmäßig folgende Fehlermeldungen auf:
"Keba P40: charger vehicle id: modbus: exception '2' (illegal data address), function '3'"

Die Ladevorgänge werden per rfid freigeschaltet.

Die Ausführung des befehls evcc charger erzeugt unter indentifier dieselbe exception.

I think something is not quite right with the enabled status. When charging to a limit, everything works fine.

Then charging stops when car has reached the limit - I have a fixed limit in my car for 90%. In evcc I also selected 90%.
When this happens, evcc goes into a endless loop of trying to disable the charger. The charger is already disabled but still the wallbox reports enabled. For then on I get the error charger out of sync: expected disabled, got enabled every few minutes.

The app shows no charging session, but somehow the "stop charging" symbol is visible on the bottom. Seems like the charger is not fully disabled.

The car has no active charging session.

When I press the stop button in the Keba app, the error stops.

Man kann relativ einfach über Modbus die P40 an HA anschließen, dann sind alle Werte verfügbar und das Laden lässt sich selber steuern - habe ich bei mir am Laufen, da ich meine Solarbatterie besser/anders als EVCC einbinden wollte. Wenn dann noch die Phasenumschaltung geht, ist es eigentlich super. Bei Interesse kann ich das Vorgehen gerne veröffentlichen…

Hi @pschneider87 : I dont think the port opening was the solution. I restarted the FritzBox and re configured the P40 and then it worked - at this time I did not enable auto port forwarding for the P40.

@premultiply Die Keba P40 hat ja vorne einen Touchbutton, bei dem Schnellladen für die aktive Sitzung aktiviert wird. Der funktioniert derzeit noch nicht, das wird mit einem Update nachgereicht.
Unabhängig davon, ist es in EVCC überhaupt möglich, dass ein charger den Lademodus von dem loadpoint verändert?

du hast zumindest den Abschalttimer, ich hab batterieunterstütztes Laden aktiv, da saugts dir erst mal die Batterie auf 70% runter wennst den Fehlstart nicht bemerkst :-(

Hab hier einen Hyundai Ioniq 5, bei der vorherigen Wallbox (Fronius Wattpilot) hatte ich das Problem nicht.

Soweit ich das hier mitbekommen habe, ist das ein Verhalten der Wallbox, das nicht im Einflussbereich von evcc liegt.

Jetzt multipliziert evcc fälschlicherweise den Wert hoch, entsprechend ist auch der estimated Ladestand falsch

Evcc fragt beim Start die Firmwareversion der Wallbox ab und entscheidet basierend darauf, mit welchem Faktor die Energie multipliziert wird.

Mit der 1.2.2. habe ich ein neues Problem:
Die Wallbox verliert hin und wieder nach dem Start nach ca. 1-2 Minuten den Ladevorgang.
In der KEBA App steht "Keine Ladesitzung". Im EVCC steht "Warte auf Autorisierung". Das Auto lädt aber weiter.

Ich bin sehr daran interessiert die Phasenumschaltung zu testen. Weiß jemand ob dazu in EVCC etwas angepasst werden muss oder ob es direkt funktionieren könnte.

Aber möglicherweise funktionierts eh nicht, weil EVCC ja laufend commands schickt. Ist die Frage was als command gewertet wird.

Es ist leider so wie du sagst, wenn du als Fallback Strom einen Wert (z.b. 6200mA) eingibst, dann evcc stoppst, springt die Wallbox an. Es reichen also scheinbar die laufenden Befehle von evcc - auch wenn nicht geladen werden soll - aus, um den Timer zu resetten.

Funktioniert das "Schnellladen" bei euch eigentlich? Wenn zuvor 1-Phasig aktiv war, dann bleibt die Wallbox dabei und stellt nicht auf 3-phasig hoch.

Falls ja - das gleiche Problem hatte ich auch, obwohl die Box in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Router (Fritzbox) hängt.
Auch der Support von KEBA konnte mir nicht wirklich weiterhelfen.
Erst die Anbindung über LAN brachte den gewünschten Erfolg.

Danke, dann habe ich wahrscheinlich den Fehler. Wir haben es Anfangs über OCPP versucht und dabei möglicherweise die Verbindung gekillt :-)
Über Modbus hat er immer das Laden nicht beendet, wenn zuwenig PV kam. Schon ne spezielle Box ;-)

Da steht exakt, was man aktivieren muss in der KEBA App damit die Phasenumschaltung funktioniert. Danach muss evcc neugestartet werden.

Anybody got a P40 with firmware 1.1.6?
My P40 came with this version and I am not able update.
All 3 different ways tested: via portal, via App (automatic), and via app (manual).
Interestingly, V1.1.6 is not mentioned in any of the new firmware releases....
KEBA did not comment on my questions to this. They said they will replace the box according to their return policies. In the event of a warranty claim it will be FOC.
This would be the ultimate step, but I cant think that this is the only solution to my problem?
