UPDATE 3:

I've now removed every existence of npm, node, node.js, Nodist, and system variables
and did a fresh install on node.js, updated npm with npm install npm --global (admin cmd),
installed expo using npm install -g expo-cli and finally created my project using
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nodist\bin>expo init "D:\Users\User\ReactNativeProjects\MyProject"

Now I could finally open the created folder in Visual Studio Code and everything works now : )

UPDATE 2:

ok I think I found part of the problem

C:\Users\User>node -v
v14.17.6

C:\Users\User>cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Nodist

C:\Program Files (x86)\Nodist>node -v
v11.13.0

now how do I fix that?

UPDATE 1:

I might finally be on the right track here

`C:\Program Files (x86)\Nodist\bin>expo
ERROR: Node.js version 11.13.0 is no longer supported.

expo-cli supports following Node.js versions:
* >=8.9.0 <9.0.0 (Maintenance LTS)
* >=10.13.0 <11.0.0 (Active LTS)
* >=12.0.0 (Current Release)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Nodist\bin>node --version
v11.13.0

somehow the version is now actually v11.13.0, I dont know how but before it allways was v14.x

EDIT I've installed the version 14 but it still shows version 11... why???

At first I just wanted to get into cross platform app development with react native.
Sadly I got stuck at installing expo.

Since two days now I'm trying to get the expo command to work in the console of my windows machine. no luck so far...

I tried a lot of different commands and followed every tutorial I could find on messing with system valiables of windows.

The highlight of the last 48 hous was when npx yarn global add expo-cli told me it would show success Installed "[email protected]"
