using different tools interchangeably

Hi,
First of all, thank you for your great project. I wanted to use nextpnr and vpr interchangeably. For example, running the placement in one tool and the routing in the other tool. I saw that you had plans to do so. I wanted to know whether this feature has already been implimented in the project or it is a work in progress. In the first case, I wanted to know where I can find the code that impliment this feature, and in the second, I wanted to know where can I start to add this feature to f4pga.
