I was wondering if it's possible to implement a negative gamma option either in addition to the regular gamma correction hotkey settings or by letting us set it manually using the separate setup tool.

I second this. For example, I like to lower the gamma in zdoom ports to ".9" rather than "1", as it darkens it up just a bit and looks more like I remember from my 90's monitor. Much prefer to play Crispy at the moment though. Even if it was a hidden setting only available through the config file (such as how i turn on integer scaling), that would be fine.
