We have opened a position for a topic related to machine learning and biogeochemical modeling, the deadline for submission is 6 June 2025.
Project title: “Explainable machine learning for marine ecosystem modelling.” We invite applications for a PhD studentship focused on the study and learning of differential equations in biogeochemistry. The final goal is to emulate, approximate and simplify models included within the Framework for Aquatic Biogeochemical Models (FABM). The candidate will implement an explainable machine learning framework with priors inspired by biogeochemical processes to emulate equations from data provided by FABM and analyze their dynamical behavior.
Principal investigators: Dott. Paolo Lazzari (OGS, [email protected]), Prof. Fabio Anselmi (UNITS, [email protected]).
