Bug: Toolbar text flashes when new files are selected

Description

The GUI flicker is annoying to the eyes, please change so that GUI is overwritten, not first cleared and then written.

Steps To Reproduce

Create an empty dir
Change so Files program list items in this directory
Use .e.g python or other code to generate a new file once per second
The GUI will flicker

Thanks for the report, Files doesn't reload the whole list. Please screen record the part that's flicking for you.

When files are created externally, the current behavior is for the new file to be selected. If the selection keeps changing in addition to new items being added, it's possible that it causes some flickering. This will potentially be solved together with #14011.
