much like --fork-header except this would be for Anvil

should support returning current state as response, or some other unique value to that specific anvil process that is running.

by default, should return the version of anvil, though i dont have a preference for this.

Additional context

this is useful when running multiple Anvil processes for matrix testing and trying to drill down failures to specific state changes across CI.
