Description
Smart Form Filler - Version Roadmap Issues
Milestone 1: Cloud-First Architecture (v3.0.0)
Epic: Pure Frontend Architecture
Goal: Transform Smart Form Filler into a pure frontend application that communicates directly with cloud AI APIs, eliminating the need for a local Node.js backend server.
Target Release: Q3 2025
Features to Implement
1. Remove Node.js Backend Dependency
- Priority: High
- Effort: Large
- Description: Eliminate the current Node.js backend server and implement direct cloud API communication from the browser extension.
Acceptance Criteria:
- Remove all backend server code and dependencies
- Update extension to work without local server
- Ensure all existing functionality is preserved
- Update documentation to reflect serverless architecture
Technical Tasks:
- Refactor API communication to use direct cloud APIs
- Remove backend controllers and routes
- Update extension manifest permissions
- Create migration guide for existing users
2. Direct Cloud API Integration
- Priority: High
- Effort: Large
- Description: Implement direct integration with multiple cloud AI providers (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Anthropic, Google).
Acceptance Criteria:
- Support for OpenAI GPT models (GPT-4, GPT-3.5-turbo)
