Last working Home Assistant release (if known):
Unknown
Description of problem, include YAML if issue is related to notifications:
After the Home Assistant Companion app is updated automatically by Google Play, background BLE advertising does not resume until the app is manually opened in the foreground.
The BLE Transmitter sensor is enabled and configured as Transmit on Home Networks only. The affected phone remained connected to the configured home Wi-Fi throughout the failure. Bermuda is used for indoor device tracking; after the app update, Bermuda stopped receiving BLE advertisements from the updated devices completely.
Opening the Companion app displayed the What's new dialog. After bringing the app to the foreground and dismissing that dialog, BLE advertisements resumed without changing or re-enabling the BLE Transmitter sensor. It has not yet been isolated whether merely opening the app or dismissing the dialog is the exact recovery trigger.
The Companion app is allowed to start automatically, run in the background, and is excluded from battery optimization.
Steps to reproduce:
- Enable the BLE Transmitter sensor and set it to Transmit on Home Networks only.
- Keep the phone connected to a configured home Wi-Fi network and confirm that Bermuda receives its BLE advertisements.
- Allow Google Play to update the Companion app automatically.
- Without opening the updated app, observe that Bermuda no longer receives advertisements from the phone.
- Open the Companion app and dismiss the What's new dialog.
- Observe that BLE advertising resumes without changing the sensor configuration.
Expected behavior:
After package replacement, enabled background functionality, including BLE advertising, should resume without requiring the user to launch the app or dismiss a dialog.
Actual behavior:
BLE advertising remains stopped indefinitely until the app is manually opened in the foreground and the update dialog is dismissed.

Companion App Logs:
Logs were not captured during the affected update.
Screenshot or video of problem:
None available. The failure is observed as the complete absence of BLE advertisements in Bermuda until the app is opened.
Additional information:
The issue was noticed after the most recent update on multiple phones in the household. All affected phones were connected to their configured home networks. Automatic startup/background operation is enabled and battery optimization is disabled for the Companion app.
