Override snippets

I don't like every snipped provided by friendly-snippets, e.g. log in typescript.
I cannot override it by placing the one I like better in ~/.vsnip/typescript.json. Is there any other mechanism for that?

So this may not exactly be documented, but basically the user's snippets should take precedence over the friendly snippets. The logic of this happens here:

The prefix of the snippet is what defines its uniqueness.

Another problem I observe, is that the if you have a small syntax issue in your JSON file, it won't be parsed at all, and the friendly snippets will take precedence at least for this file type. This is discussed here:

To avoid this I'd suggest to add the following:

vim.lsp.enable('jsonls')

my .json snippets override friendly-snippets, but not my .snippet ones.

It shouldn't matter which format I define my snippets in, the ones in my home directory should override any global ones.

I really appreciate that vsnip supports the .snippets (snipmate) format, because it is awefully tedious to create the json markup, especially for many tiny simple snippets like for unicode characters:
