Hello,

on my Xperia 5 III with Android 13 when I try open app via Assist button, it open first some fullscreen gray screen with white lock icon. So I must click on assist button again to close this gray screen.

I use only swipe up security setting to unlock my phone. Is this an issue that the gray screen popup and not close?

Thank you in advance. I tried reinstall app, restart phone, but nothing work.

Ok I found, that this doing Google app. If I disable this app everything works perfectly. But I don't know if I will sometimes need Google app :-/ .

EDIT: Ok, so I temporary fixed :

  1. I disabled Google Assistant app (this app can't be uninstalled) .
  2. I set Default app for digital assistant from Google Assistant to None .
  3. Now if I click on Assist button, Google app popup information about missing Gemini at the bottom of screen (BUT, gray screen with lock icon disappear after half second :-) ! )
  4. So I downloaded Gemini app from Google Play store and switch it back to Google Assistant .
  5. Viola. No Assistant, no popup error message and gray screen with lock icon still correctly disappearing ;-) .

EDIT 2 :

But if Google Assistant app is disabled, after click assist button, empty Google Assistant from Google app appears in multitaksing menu. So I will might disable the Google app anyway, and install Google Go app.
