Windows Support

I have a Linux and Windows development environments, but I can't build on Windows. Why is Windows being excluded? Will Windows be supported one day?

We don't have good jank support on Windows yet because none of the folks working on jank use Windows. 🙂

jank will support Windows eventually, but it's not a target for the alpha release this year. If someone, like yourself, wants to take up the task of Windows support, feel free to reach out if you need guidance or clarity.

I tried. libzippp would not compile. I put in variables for libzip but it wouldn't find them and then it wouldn't work for bzip2. I don't know enough of cmake to be able to do this.

Hello, I’m working on a port of jank to Windows using the MSYS2 CLANG64 toolchain. It currently includes a GitHub workflow that builds the latest LLVM from source via bin/build-clang, successfully compiles jank, runs the health check, and executes tests that do not rely on exceptions at the IR layer (which is the current limitation). All changes remain compatible with the other supported architectures.

The goal is to integrate these changes into jank once the port catches up with the latest upstream updates.
