FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What iOS versions does YTLitePlusEXTRA support?

YTLitePlusEXTRA supports iOS 14 and above. However, if you're sideloading it on a non-jailbroken device, you must also consider the YouTube app's compatibility with your iOS version. Below is a list of the latest supported YouTube versions per iOS:

  • iOS 14: YouTube 19.20.2 (Outdated, unsupported by YouTube)
  • iOS 15: YouTube 20.21.6
  • iOS 16 or Higher: Any version, as long as supported by YouTube

    • If you want to use YouTube in iOS 14, please install/inject YouTubeLegacy by PoomSmart along with other tweaks.


    My iOS version is no longer supported by the latest YouTube app. What can I do?

    Find a compatible IPA version online and build a YTLitePlusEXTRA IPA using Github Actions


    When I try to play a video, I get "Something went wrong. Refresh and try again later." error.

    Before jumping to conclusions:

    This is NOT caused by ad blocking.

    This is NOT because your account was magically flagged.

    This is NOT due to your account being secretly blacklisted.

    The issue seems to lie on YouTube's PoToken security guard as suggested here.

    Possible temporary workarounds

    Try one of these:

  • Sign out from your Google account and watch videos without signing in.
  • Use your other Google accounts. If you haven't got any, create a new one.
  • Turns on Fix playback issues in YTUHD settings.
