Missing: Deploy to a Jail

Discovered this project while on holiday so not had a chance to test in anger but wanted to drop this message so I could come back to it when back on a computer. As a BSD user and elixir developer I was delighted to find this as I have been manually deploying my projects thus far. If the idea is to fully leverage the features of FreeBSD, its great to use ZFS but not taking advantage of Jails is a huge missed opportunity. I’m happy to take a stab at it when back, but wanted to verify if you’ve already started to look at this and what approach you considered.

I've been interested to see where jails can fit in.
Currently I lock down phoenix deploys by scoping each release to its own user. There may be some mileage from service jails, particularly when adding things like node_exporters, grafana, prometheus, or other functional scripts.

What jail advantages do you have in mind? Will they help with managing deployments, security, or other?

All of the above, but also for deploying the postgres/elxiir app onto the same "physical" host for those not using small machines. Similar to how containers are used on linux. I currently use jails to deploy app+db in separate jails to the same freebsd host and then further use jails to deploy multiple versions of the app etc. I would still have my backup db/app on a seperate host. Similar to how you are using ZFS to sync the DB you can sync the whole app jail in the same fashion.

Been a busy work/life week so not had a chance to give this more thought but hope to get back to my app and its deployment soon.
