Modules in gitlab?

Is there a way to use this tool with modules hosted in gitlab rather than github?

I've been using a fork of this repo for a couple of years before realising it's not really getting maintained, but it had a -basic-auth flag that I've been using with a gitlab token. I'd like to switch over to this original as it's still being maintained (and thankyou for that btw; this tool is awesome and. I know it's your freetime I'm asking for here!), but I can't figure out a way to get this version to play nice with gitlab.

I have literally zero experience with Go or I'd attempt something as a submission.

I've tried exporting GIT_ASKPASS(_TOKEN) with relevant values with no joy. Messed around with various git creds helpers and nothing I try seems to persuade this to want to auth against gitlab. Am I missing something super easy and/or obvious?

If it helps, I'm running on MacOS 14.6.1 using latest version of this product at time of writing - 3.3.7

Hi @StorageMatt, thanks for the considerately phrased request :) Could you give #138 a try? Right now, it should work like this: --git-basic-auth <host>=<username>:<password>. I'll look into supporting Askpass in the future as well!
