Joplin version

Desktop version info

Environment

  • Import method: OneNote ZIP export imported via Joplin OneNote importer

Description
I migrated several OneNote notebooks to Joplin using the official OneNote import functionality.

The import completed successfully and most content was imported correctly. However, I have found multiple pages where portions of the original OneNote content are missing after import.

Additional information

  • The affected notebooks contain a mixture of text, images, tables and formatted content.
  • Most pages import correctly.
  • The issue appears to affect only some pages.
  • The original content remains visible in OneNote.

Because the notebooks are large, it is difficult to manually verify every page after import.

Questions

  1. Are there known limitations of the OneNote importer that can result in partial page imports?
  2. Is there a way to identify pages where content was skipped during import?
  3. Are importer logs available that would help determine why content was omitted?

Current behaviour

Some pages are imported only partially. Examples include:

  • Entire sections of a page missing.
  • Content appearing to stop part-way through a page.
  • Other content on the same page importing successfully.

There are no obvious import errors shown during the import process.

Expected behaviour

All content present in the original OneNote page should be imported into Joplin.
