Keyboard layout settings missing features

The new interface is completely crippled and unclear.
Now "Remember the last layout used for each window" replaces the previous "Use separate layout for each window" or something like that. I don't remember the exact description in the previous dialogue.

I miss the button "Options" which was giving mush more settings.
Where can I find that.

Not toggle button to switch between two layouts.

It ignores xkb settings.
This is wrong.

Why do you remove options?
You force us to use it the way you want.
That is the MS Windows way.

The old UI isn't coming back. It was very tightly tied to a library that is no longer maintained or supported.

Yes, there are some things that have been overlooked that are being worked on still. Can you be more specific about what you're missing, and less 'it's all different you suck!'

Xkb settings are not being ignored. The settings schema is changed. These are now stored in org.cinnamon.desktop.input-sources xkb-options.

In my case, it would be nice to have the ability to access some additional Xkb options, like swap ctrl and caps lock. I think I used to do it through the keyboard settings panel before, and now I need to setxkbmap -option ctrl:swapcaps.

That ones fairly niche, and is not one I'd been planning on restoring to the UI, but no matter what it should still work, and you can apply it using 'dconf-editor' - this will make it persistent as well:

Not sure if this is the right place, my problem is that i can't change my Keyboard layout anymore since updating to 6.6.2.
I'm using IBUS though. The Applet is shown in the Taskbar and when i press "super+space" the selector for switching the layout pops up but it doesn't do anything. The Layout shown in the Taskbar doesn't change either and i can't even click or right-click it do change it there.

What do you mean by this? There is no selector - super+space should just change the layout and the layout applet should change on that panel.

Are you using any third party applets (spices) that provide some sort of popup?

Ibus is required by cinnamon now (even when not using languages with special input modes).

Are any warnings showing up in your logs? (journal or ~/.xsession-errors)

Maybe "Selector" is the wrong word. I meant this thing that pops up when pressing the key combination. It lets me select the layout with continuous pressing of the key combo.

I don't know what that switcher is, it's not part of Cinnamon and could be interfering. What ibus and mozc packages do you have installed?

Do you have a ~/.xinputrc file? If so, what are its contents?

Weird that switcher was there the minute i set up my ibus with mozc for the japanese keyboard back then on debian and its the same now on endeavour.

I always use "Ibus Preferences" for switching keyboard layouts, not the one at "Keyboard>Layouts" is that helps anything?

How to tell Cinnamon to respect my "localectl set-x11-keymap" settings in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/?
The new version seems to ignore it completely now.

I tried enabling "Use system keyboard layout" in IBus Preferences, but it made no difference.
