This is how Firefox chose to implement the seamless clipboard API. Go complain to them if you don't like it.

Yeah upstreams resolution was to disable it, I would go into firefox and set dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled to false.

I am getting real tired of supporting Firefox, they are the new IE6. Everyone was fine with the clipboard API but they had to do it this way, it is the same with browser fingerprinting, language support, and basically everything else they just keep ripping stuff out and argue over the dumbest mods to stuff chomium mainlined a year ago that they are years back on W3C proposals.
It is kind of frustrating honestly.

@thelamer thank you. but that means it would disable the clipboard completely?

my issue is that chromium based browsers are not able to write äöü when using a swiss keyboard when using kasm to connect to freerdp.. so that's the only reason to use Firefox in the first place.. this issue is known since 2014 and was never fixed in chromium.. so yeah..

@thelamer I just tried this solution. but sadly it doesn't work. is till shows the "paste" on each first click, after clicking something outside.
what's the issue with taking the upstream solution?
