Charts are always cool. The width of the display is 240 so need to bare that in mind. May also be useful to have bars be more then 1 pixel wide. In the case of candlesticks with open/high/low/close, recommend 5 pixel width, which yields 48 periods. 48 is kind of a good amount for hours covering 2 full days so that could be a good starting point.
