I know, I know... but hear me out!
I am using Jujutsu quite a bit lately, including in jj workspaces. Those don't have a git repository associated with them. They are, however, still backed by GitHub repositories, with issues and all that.
I'd love to keep using magit-forge even when I'm not using magit itself to manage the clone. Currently running
magit-statusin the repo acts as if I have a new empty git repository ("In the beginning there was darkness")so, my idea / request / sincere hope is that there is a way to use the excellent UX of magit-forge alongside not-git.
