Good idea to get this kind of statistics (unsure though what would be their use but interesting).
How about having an option to rsync the mirror and work on the mirror ?

As it stands, everything is downloaded at most once, so I'm not sure there's added value -- unless you are going to run multiple queries on the data.
This would be an interesting add-on, though.
