Pip installation help

Clean install of python-3.13.2-amd64, VSCodeUserSetup-x64-1.98.2. Python --version shows 3.13.2 as it should but pip --version presents a pop up(How would you like to open this file?). I can specify pip install -m to get a download going but I would rather fix the issue entirely. Extremely new but wanting a clean environment to learn and test Python.

Where did you get the python download from?

Also note that python -m pip is the right way to use pip see https://snarky.ca/why-you-should-use-python-m-pip/
I really recommend looking into uv and using uv to manage your python instances and packages.

I had never tried pip3, All video tutorials I've seen only used pip. I've looked into and started using uv. Thank you for recommending it, It is a fantastic tool at this point.
