Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes/No

  • VS Code Version: 1.97.2
  • OS Version: Linux x64 6.12.9-200.fc41.x86_64

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Click on Profile icon in bottom-left
  2. Click Backup and Sync Settings...
  3. Click Sign in
  4. Click Sign in with GitHub
  5. Verify your session
  6. Wait for redirect

Here is a screen recording.

It appears to not be redirecting back to VS Code correctly.

How did you install VS Code? The protocol handler has to be set up properly for this to work. Also, if you Cancel this flow via the notification you are prompted to try signing in a different way. Can you try the other ways (there are multiple) and let me know if others work for you?
