Not possible to select SportScanner as agent

I have followed the instructions, but for some reason i can not manage to get SportScanner to pop up as an agent, its only selectable in Scanner.

Win10 Pro
Plex Media Server v3.39.5

Ive got this same issue.
Ive tried testing with a docker image of Plex Server.
Comes up with the same issue

Make sure you have SportScanner.bundle in PLEXHOME/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/

    • Contents/
      • Info.plist
      • Code/
        • __init__.py
      • Libraries/
        • .... lots of stuff`

noit sure if the latest Plex updates changed anything?

I've followed the instructions by copying the correct folders into plex.
Im using unraid and my plex folder is at appdata\binhex-plexpass\Plex Media Server

There was no Scanner folder there to begin with.
Ive reset the app a couple of times, still doesnt appear in agent.

is it something to do with the version im using? Binhex

So after almost a hour of back and forth with different AIs, It was because the library type was "Other Videos". You simply choose TV Shows or movies to get the scanner to appear.

Same issue here, folder is set as TV show, I can select Scanner as SportScanner, but Agent SportScanner is missing. Plex server is on Synology. Plex server version 1.42.1.10060

This should be explicitly stated in the README. I ended up doing the same thing, setting the library to TV Shows works.

I've done a handful of other agents and scanners but this one isn't working for me.

I've confirmed paths:
/plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/SportScanner.bundle/
/plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Scanners/Series/SportScanner.py (right next to Absolute Series Scanner that works)

Permissions and ownership match the other existing scanners/agents
Plex has been restarted
I'm making a new "TV Show" library

I've got the scanner but not the agent and am out of ideas

For those running Plex inside a docker container.
You have to make sure python is installed in the container.

Enter the Plex docker container terminal with:
sudo docker exec -ti plex /bin/bash
then install python3:
apt-get install python3

I logged in to do this and for whatever reason, both the Agent and Scanner options were available today.....maddening

I also confirmed that Python was installed within the container 👍

Now I face an issue with the library being empty hours after the initial scan....My naming convention should be fine:
/Sports/MLB/Season 2025/MLB 13-10-2025 NLCS GM1 Los Angeles Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers.mp4

If I can't find a solution, I'll open a new issue with whatever I'm able to find
