Make rehearsal marks consistent across scores #27014
Comments
If you want a change in properties to be applied as the default style throughout the score, simply choose that option from the "..." menu. As for the text itself, normally you should simply type it after pressing Ctrl+M, so it won't matter what you've entered previously. B1 is only the default if you use the palette rather than the shortcut or menu. In the future, when you have questions about how to use MuseScore, please ask on the support forum at musescore.org. Then if it turns out there is consensus about how things could be improved, you can open an issue here. |
I agree with @MarcSabatella, but I would like to voice my support for this feature. Shortcuts (no surprise) provide shortcuts to workflows, but the workflow itself should not be so inefficient to force people to use the shortcut. Preference should be given to the visible controls vs. the invisible shortcuts. |
For which feature? As mentioned, there already is a style feature for making rehearsal makes (or any other element type) consistent across the score. Maybe you meant the separate unrelated comment about what happens when you use the palette? The rehearsal marks do default to being in order in that case, but only to the extent the algorithm can figure out your order. If you change things up, it doesn't know what to do and reverts to a generic default. if you have a firm proposal for a new algorithm, I'd recommend opening a new feature request for that, as it has nothing to do with style settings. |
Closing this as a support request. |
Your idea
Rehearsal marks added do not have the same border style as previous marks (ex. if a circular border style was added earlier in the score, the rehearsal marks will still default to the box style). Letter & number combinations will also not consistently update (if marks go A, B, C, then C1, the next one will always go back to default B1 instead of C2 or D)
Problem to be solved
This enhances speed of adding rehearsal marks to scores, as currently it is tedious.
