At all Cubic Player , this is my nastalgy about old times with Windows 9x and MS-DOS... when I understanded what OpenCubicPlayer 2.6 latest and end version this player , I started find what to replace with this player , now I replace this player XMPlay with OpenMPT plugin and usually play trackers music in XMPlay with OpenMPT plugin , but I came across your project , and was very glad that what OpenCubicPlayer still alive and started test and compare with XMPlay with OpenMPT plugin , and that's why I repoprt about bugs , also , I remember what Cubic Player for DOS play MIDI use GUS patches when play MIDI files ) , then in time ESS688 this method play verry high quality , but next I buy AWE64 and next SB Live! and next this method outdated and I started usage virtual synthesizer for MIDI , next I moved to use only VSTi MIDI synthesizers because WDM in Windows XP and Windows 7 x64 was be not compatible , firstly I use in Windows 7 CoolSoftVirtualMIDISynth and soundfonts banksets from SB Live! , but nextxt I find VSTi version Roland VSC and YAMAHA S-YXG50 , next I find more quality synthesizers whitch always will will better then hardware synthesizer from Creative soundcards , me really sad what we so talked and in result you think what I do not appreciate your work. This not so , I simply want see your player as ideal for all platforms include Windows.
By the way , how you do select MIDI device in Linux ?
Maybe so situation what user has available hardware modules Roland MT-32 or YAMAHA MU-50/80/90 or Roland SC-55/88/8820/8850 , how with this play MIDI stream with use your player ?
That's why I think what need add option passthrough to number device or name device
This not mean what need abort support Timidity as project , this mean what I offer add option to transmit MIDI stream not in SF file , but MIDI device virtualy or realy
