After network scan all device names are listet. But they have a wrong name. I see the name and the domain/site as one word. No dots.
right: homepage.fritzbox or myspeed.fritzbox Have anybody an idea? Where is my error? |

Hi, you can change how the devices names are cleaned by changing or removing regex filters from the NEWDEV_NAME_CLEANUP_REGEX setting |

Delete the devices and they will be rediscovered. You can do it in
Maintenance - multi edit

Hummm, you'll need to wait for the next release then. You could try to copy and replace the helper.py file (https://github.com/jokob-sk/NetAlertX/blob/main/server/helper.py) if you know how to do that in the container itself? The file is in /app/server I think (on the phone now so difficult to check ) |

Hi, I came across this issue after installing the docker version at the weekend, v25.6.7, so I cleared the clean-up regex as mentioned above then deleted all the devices (I used option under maintenance,tools) and they all came up correctly. Except in one place that insists on remaining the same, under Network then on any device other than the main network node, mydomain.eu, it shows the parent network device as being mydomaineu. If I click it, it takes me to mydomain.eu so at least that's correct, but I cannot find where to edit "mydomaineu". Also, in tools,multi-edit, it also continues to remove the dots in names in the dropdown list of devices. As I've not done much with this other than installing it, I'm happy to blow stuff away in order to clear this up. |

I did try that before and also on a different browser, Brave + Firefox and it was the same. It's the next day for me and now things are worse. I had deleted all the devices again yesterday and went to double-check if it was the cache, but found the network diagram empty except for the Internet gateway, with all the devices now sitting underneath in the unassigned section:
I deleted them all again but it did the same after I waited for things to rescan. I'd use the multi-edit to re-assign them, but I can't choose all of them at once as the picker only allows me to click on each device one at a time and I don't time add them all. I did try assigning one device to it manually and now it appears to be ok i.e. it shows the domain correctly with dots. I'm wondering if I should reset the entire database but keep the configuration so that the clean-up regex remains empty - can I simply shut down the container and delete the content of the database directory to do that? |

Hi there, Can you try deleting related plugin data that is used for Name discovery under Integrations -> Plugins -> [Plugin name]? You can then in multiedit apply the name You can of course reset the app as well. You can find the most important things backed up in the /config folder (there is also a backup of your devices config if needed). I'm struggling to get it to stay running now. I decided to delete everything including the container but not the app.conf file so at least my settings were retained, but after a short while the container just restarts itself constantly with this being logged (which btw, doesn't seem to appear in the app.log file which I expose through a volume, I only see it through the container logging): This repeats every few minutes - I did try cleaning all the files then a quickly as possible using the UI to remove all the regex, but it does the same. All I wanted is to start with a clean database and my settings including removing all the name clean-up regex which for some reason by default, strips all dots from the name. If it was just removing the domain part of the FQDN I would have lived with that, but to have device.my.domain become devicemydomain makes no sense to me. |

Please open a separate issue, we are getting off the track from the original topic. Your app.conf may be be corrupted. It might be easier to start from a fresh install and manually compared your current and new app.conf after you save the settings at least once. |
