Date format - facility to change from default #2894

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I would like the Tasks date format to match my locale but cannot seem to find a way of changing it from the default mm:dd:yyyy? Living in a dd:mm:yyyy locale the difference can be quite alarming at times. For example a task that shows due on 5th June looks to me like it's due on 6th May? Perhaps I am missing something but if the facility is really not there it would be most appreciated by many users.
