We currently have well defined groups available as
- Github org members,
- within that, rack group.
We have services on various m# hosts that use these, and some manually promoted users. We have levels of access in use include read-only, read-all / read more sensitive, and r/w e.g. administration, these seem fine but people might appreciate if we have a clear simple story about how to gain access and what are good reasons -- or just how they can help more.
Auth here seems worth tracking separately, supporting operation independent from a NB-wide auth system, and the next issue #498 raises how we might host member portal & auth system, also easing wiki-auth and access-wg door concerns.
