Placing / picking up a laptop could be tied to a grade. Current table doesn't have a grade input however it could be added and users who want everyone to be able to place/pick up could simply set it to 0.

For example like this:

config.allowedJobs = {
    ["fib"] = 5
}

or, if you want to later add more options/configs

config.allowedJobs = {
    ["fib"] = {
          laptopAdministrator = 5
    }
}

I just noticed that interacting with laptops aren't tied to config as of now. I suggest that becomes a config option as well, so users could decide if they want to allow everyone to use the computers or only ones with perms.

If you are not in one of the required groups (as specified in the config), you can open the laptop, but you cannot login. I.e. if a player tries to login without permissions by clicking on the screen, they will receive the error "Wrong username or password" (just like you can open and interact with any laptop in real life). So they cannot acces the apps and, for example, change database entries.

I understand, what about seperating interacting and placing/picking up permissions? I can pr if wanted.

We have implemented your suggestion in the latest release v1.0.4.
You can now configure which jobs and grades are required to perform specific actions, such as picking up or accessing a laptop.
