unpack bizarrely throwing error when importing pattern

When I import any pattern that involves an unpack block, st barfs on it:

Oct 25 15:42:53 [ 24 ][ ERROR ] "Key was not in rule"

It's totally valid. Not sure why it's throwing this error.
