[Feature Request] Offer a library in addition to the CLI

👋🏼 since this is written in Go, I'd love to leverage this in wow-build-tools as part of tests and validation upon generating release.json files.

In the meantime, I'll implement similar validation that RJV is doing in WBT itself, but it'd be great to take advantage of the work here instead to keep WBT up to date more easily.

Let me know if this is something you're interested in doing! I can help out if you want to do it but don't have the bandwidth right now 👍🏼

Usage as a library seems reasonable.

This might be a deal breaker for you, however: this library and all of my work are released under the GPL. If you incorporate it into your own work, it will have to change from MIT to GPL too.

After looking into the differences, I'd be willing to switch to GPL. I'm digging in to my to make sure there aren't any nuances I'm overlooking, but so far I don't see any issues with the change.

Well thanks for looking into the GPL, the philosophy behind it isn't for everybody.

I took a look at the code in this project as well and it's almost entirely boilerplate, I'm not sure I would bother integrating it ;) There aren't even any tests.

I wouldn't mind (and probably couldn't tell) if you lifted large portions for your own use. Go nuts.

Makes sense! For now I'm caching the latest release json schema and have a few checks for updates, then just normal schema validation stuff. The important piece is the underlying schema, really, so as long as I'm keeping up to date on that, I should be good with my current approach. Thanks for taking a look!
